After a peaceful snack of dandelions in a quiet field, this female Black Bear began to wander slowly down the trail. Although she showed no signs of agitation, I made sure to respect her space—observing from a safe distance with my 600mm lens. As she walked directly toward me, her intense gaze locked onto mine, allowing for this striking portrait. The calm yet commanding expression in her eyes reflects the quiet strength and presence of one of the forest’s most iconic inhabitants.
